The Public Service Announcement (PSA) is a short announcement providing information to the public for an upcoming community event. There is usually no cost to the event and it is open for everyone. The information must be submitted three weeks in advance of the event for optimal coverage. KIDE can not assure event will be broadcast if submitted less than three days in advance.

Five day four night fly fishing camp out of Weed. The Fly Shop of Redding has been doing this since 1998. The Shastatrinityflyfishers fly club is sponsering six scholarships to this camp. The Fly shop is a non-profit business.

Salmon Relay Run

The 10th annual Salmon Relay Run is scheduled for Fri May 25th The run begins at the mouth of the Klamath River at 5:30 a.m. with the salmon baton being dipped into the Klamath River, the brought by boat to Johnson's where runners will bring it upriver to Weitchpec. Runners will then split into two groups with one group run ending around 2:30 at the Karuk Tribal building in Orleans, and the other group ending at Trinity Valley elementary School at approximately 3:00. The purpose of the relay run is to increase public awareness about the needs of the salmon, and a healthy river. Community members are welcome to join the run and help promote the message that we need healthy rivers and a healthy environment. To sign up to join the run contact Margo Robbins at 625-5600 ext 2335. T-shirts are available $10.00 each Approximate time runners will come thru Hoopa: 12:30-1pm

The Bureau of Reclamation announces that releases from Lewiston Dam into the Trinity River will increase to a peak flow of 6,000 cubic feet per second(cfs) for four(4) days as part of the Trinity River Restoration Program. Releases begin increasing on Sat Apr 21, 2012, reach the peak flow May 6, hold for four(4) days, then decrease to 4,500 cubic feet per second(cfs) by May 11 and to a summer base-flow of 450 cubic feet per second(cfs) by July 26
